Photographic exhibition 'Dorothea Lange'

Verona (VR)

The Centro Internazionale di Fotografia Scavi Scaligeri dedicates a major retrospective to Dorothea Lange, one of the most powerful voices in American documentary photography. About two hundred shots trace the most intense period of her career: from the chronicle of the Great Depression and mass migrations, with the famous portrait Migrant Mother, to the dramatic internment of American citizens of Japanese origin during World War II. The exhibition, curated by Walter Guadagnini and Monica Poggi and produced by CAMERA Torino, gathers the images that marked the history of the 20th century, conveying the lucid and deeply human gaze with which Lange documented the social crises of her time. The exhibition is set up in the evocative underground spaces of Verona's historic center, a space that amplifies the narrative power of these iconic photographs.
