The bookseller on do Rode. Virgilio Scapin 1932 - 2006
Vicenza, Biblioteca civica Bertoliana - Palazzo Cordellina e contrada Do Rode
Organised by Comune di Vicenza e Biblioteca civica Bertoliana
From 16 October to 13 November 2026, Vicenza commemorates Virgilio Scapin (1932-2006) twenty years after his death with a series of events promoted by the Comune di Vicenza and the Biblioteca civica Bertoliana. A bookseller, actor and writer, Scapin was a multifaceted figure in the city, linked to the contrada Do Rode from which the series takes its name. The programme includes 'Le bretelle del librario', a theatrical narrative that retraces his life, and 'La citta' di Virgilio', a guided excursion to the places associated with him, starting from contrada Do Rode. An exhibition is also set up at Palazzo Cordellina.
Series from 16 October to 13 November 2026. Six events: meetings, a walk, a reading and an exhibition. Locations: contrada Do Rode (excursion departure point), Biblioteca civica Bertoliana - Palazzo Cordellina (theatrical narrative and exhibition).
